 We've been doing a movie night once a week and watching a family friendly film, usually with snacks (& PJ's!).  Last week, we watched Wall-E and this week, it was Up!

 As you can see, Ava was terrified of this movie.  There's a scene with angry barking dogs and she was NOT happy.  Aiden liked it. :)

 And on Tuesday, Aiden stayed at nana's house while mommy and Ava went to Wichita for a "girls day" before the start of preschool.  We went fall clothes shopping, got school supplies, ate lunch.. and nana even gave money to buy a new train (from Thomas & Friends).  She was SO excited to finally find Kevin, who works in the Steamworks and says her favorite line that we hear all the time "sorry boss, didn't mean to boss, slip of the hook!"

i know, i know.. the blog is different

i admit - i messed up playing with HTML.  so until i find the energy to play with it more.. this is the way it's going to look.  sorry :(

Ava's 1st day of Preschool {2012-2013}

Hooray!!!!!!  It's school time again!!!!!!!

These past couple weeks have been pretty exhausting with miss attitude Ava.  She and I have been counting down the days until the start of preschool - to give her something to do, to get her away from Aiden (and me) for a few hours, out of the house, with kids her own age, constantly engaged, etc.

After a restless night's sleep and an episode with sleepwalking, this puffy eyed child was ready to go at 6 am!  We return for another year at Four Seasons Preschool.  Last year, Ava wasn't *technically* old enough for preschool with her October birthday, so this is her first *offical* year.  But!  Instead of being in the 2 day a week 3 year old class, Ava is taking the 3 day a week pre-K class!  We felt (along with her teacher) that she was ready both maturity and skills-wise, so off she went this morning. 

 I said, "show me your big girl preschool smile" and got this ^

A bit of info about her school.  Her teacher is Mrs. Freeland, whom we adore.  She has been teaching at this preschool for 34 (yep, THIRTY FOUR) years!!  She purchased a small home several years ago and knocked down most of the interior walls to make a preschool.  There are 2 bathrooms and a large outdoor play area for the kids, as well as a kitchen and very large main space, with a classroom on one side and a learning center on the other.  She doesn't live there - it's just a preschool and it's truly adorable.  We are very thankful for Mrs. Freeland.. and Ava has started including her in bedtime prayers :)

we spent our rainy saturday afternoon at the bowling alley.  ava split her time between having fun and pouting.  aiden didn't really care.  did i mention i won both games?
