Ava's 2nd birthday party!

We had Ava's2nd birthday party at the University of Kansas vs. Texas A&M football game this year as part of the Junior Jayhawk program.  They threw a pizza party, complete with a KU cake, appearances by Big Jay and Baby Jay, tickets to the game, and an autographed KU football!  Thank you to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Ava's birthday!  We had fun and hope you did too!

Ava is TWO!

Oh how time flies.  Our baby turned two today.  Ava is such a happy, sweet, beautiful, fun little girl.  She amazes us every day with the things she learns and at what a beautiful little girl she has become.  At two years old, Ava's favorite show is The Fresh Beat Band.  It's all she watches.  She is a little bit of a picky eater but still loves potatoes, mac and cheese, hot dogs, yogurt, eggs, bananas... and powdered sugar donuts.   She is talking up a storm!  Her favorite sayings are "hi monkey" and "nastygross."  She is making excellent progress on potty training (pullups full time, got the #2 down..).  She loves playing with her friends, music and dancing, going to the park, going to games with mommy and daddy, and her family.  We are so proud at how polite she has become.  She says please and thank you and excuse me and it is just too cute!  She is such a sweet little girl and we thank God every day for blessing us with such a wonderful little girl!

For the big birthday celebration,  I took her to the same pumpkin patch and corn maze we went to last year.  After lunch, we went to Build-a-Bear, where Ava built her "munchie the birthday monkey."  We stopped by Yogurtini for a little frozen yogurt, then home for rest-time, then James, aunt Steph and Brian came over for birthday dinner and cake!  Sorry the pictures are out of order.  Enjoy!

Royals, friends, and fun!

We had a semi-eventful week! Here are pictures from the TWO Royals games we went to this week! Monday night we went to see the Royals vs. Twins with some of my co-workers, then Saturday we went with friends to the Royals vs. Rays.

Kyle and Karter.. plus the first and only picture I have of Ava sticking her tongue out. She needs more girl friends! These boys are teaching her bad tricks! :)
hanging out watching some TV!

This little girl is truly amazing. I am such a proud mommy!

This week was also the conclusion to our corporate dodgeball tournament. Our team, "The Regulators", lost in the semi-finals in a field of 41 teams. We were pretty proud of ourselves, and as always, had a blast.
Check back soon... Ava's 2 year professional pics to come :):):):):):):):):)

Monday Night Football -- and more!

Monday Night Football returns to Kansas City!! The Chiefs took on the San Diego Chargers and it was such an awesome game, rain and all! V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!
The game didn't kickoff until 9:15 PM, so... we decided to go to the Royals vs. Oakland A's game beforehand! So at 2, we headed out to the Truman Sports Complex and went to the baseball game, then tailgated for... around 4 hours... then headed to the Chiefs game! Ava had such a blast! She stayed awake and cheered through the whole game!!!! We didn't know how she would do, but since we couldn't find a babysitter, we tried it out and she made it until the second we got in the car - @ 1 am!

GO CHIEFS!

the 800 lb cake, a replica of "the NEW Arrowhead!"

The nice thing about Kaufmann Stadium is they have an entire area devoted to kids. Water fountains, the giant baseball, a huge playground, mini-golf, a merry-go-round, kids restaurants and pro shop, a mini field so they can "run the bases," etc!

On Saturday, we went downtown to see Dora the Explorer, Kai-Lan, the Wonder Pets, and the Backyardigans in Nick Jr.'s Storytime LIVE! Ava kept pointing and saying "oh wow!" We would catch her waving to the characters every now and then. It was a really neat experience and we hope to go again someday!

Until next week... Chiefs vs. San Francisco!!!! 2-0!!!!
