uiToday was the 3rd Annual Lisa Waldhauer Memorial Golf Tournament at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. The dinner was held last night at McPherson Country Club. Here are a few pics from the weekend. Thank you to nana and poppa, Kurt, Carla, Jeannie, and everyone who helped put on this amazing event. We miss you so much Lisa and think about you every single day! We love you!

"that's the happiest sick baby I've EVER seen!"

...was what the ER nurse at Children's Mercy told me. When I told her she was running a 103 fever, she didn't believe me! But I guess I was wrong, it was higher. Anyways, Ava has been home sick since Wednesday with a now-confirmed case of Roseola. Her rash broke out last night. She has been happy as a clam though, she doesn't look like a sick baby at all!

Ava goes to Children's Mercy

Ava had her first ER visit on Tuesday night :( I took her to Children's Mercy after her babysitter called and said her temp was 103. We had known she'd been feverish since Sunday night and passed it off as teething. We had taken it on Sunday and Monday and she was 100-101. So when it hit 103, I figured it was time. Sure enough, we got to CM and she was 103.3, again, with no other symptoms. They drew blood and took a urine sample, but were still unable to diagnose her. She has a very high white blood cell count but that's about it. They gave her some Motrin and let us go when it got down to 101.8. So I am home today with her. She is on antibiotics for the time being and we see the pediatrician for a follow-up tomorrow. I wish I was young enough to go to Children's Mercy, what an amazing place. Here's a sad little picture of Ava in her hospital gown :( She is acting normal today but is still about 102. Thank you Dr. James for all of your help! And we appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery from this mystery virus!  (update: H1N1)

Happy (belated) 4th of July!!

I know, I know, I'm a little late.. but it's been a crazy busy week! So I'll back up a little to last Friday, July 3! Ava hosted her first BBQ at our house for our friends and family. Our house is near finished (for now) so we had some friends, old and new, come over for food and fireworks! I was pretty busy with the party so I don't have a lot of pictures from it :( Thanks to everyone who came, we had so much fun!!

Ava goes to the ZOO!

This morning I took Ava to Zimbabwe, Nairobi, Uganda and Botswana -- at the Kansas City Zoo! They have the largest Africa exhibit in the US. It was amazing and she had SO much fun! She was a perfect angel the whole time we were there. Besides dogs, of course, her favorite animal is lions. I think we have an animal lover! I didn't get very many pictures but here are a few::
