chiefs vs. chargers

 A couple weekends ago, we headed out to Hays, Kansas to check out Family Fun Day with Thomas & Friends.  The tv station that airs Thomas has been advertising this for months, and since Ava loves Thomas so much, it was a no brainer.  Plus!  Taco Shop, hello!!!

 with new friend.. Ava!  we've known for some time that Ava is off the charts in height, but you see here -- the "other" Ava is 5 years old and in Kindergarten. 

 and.. we stopped by the old loveshack so I could show James where I was born :):)

 the Thomas & Friends event turned out to be a bust, but we still had a nice time.

 Ava, she is so funny.  Always touching James' face!!

 and my new obsession.. wind turbines!  They are SO cool :):)

 aside from seeing the smiles and laughs on Ava's face, the next best thing was watching James eat a funnel cake and get powdered sugar ALL OVER Aiden and his stroller.

 once it got dark.. around 8:15, the fair was desolate.  (perks of going on a Tuesday!) so Ava rode most of the rides all by herself.

we measured ava then hiked up that bun to get to 42" :)

what an exhausting experience!!!  the kids were sooo tired.  ava was completely delirious as we were walking out, but somehow talked us into an ice cream cone. 

it was nice to go to the fair again, especially with little kids.  note to future self -- GO ON TUESDAY!!  no lines, bracelet night, can't go wrong :)  and don't get a quesadilla again.  boo.
